Essential Job Functions
oMust have working knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection.
oUnderstands and promotes the DWG Culture Statement and responsible for
cultivating his/her subordinates accordingly.
oPlan and design Mechanical and/or Electrical systems for projects of various types
including: institutional facilities, commercial buildings, medical complexes,
educational facilities, laboratories, and government facilities.
oProvides mentoring of electrical, mechanical, plumbing/fire protection
designers/engineers.
oProvide continuous customer service the client in order to promote a strong
business relationship.
oResponsible for managing projects to include QA/QC, adherence to deadlines set
by client, and meeting client's expectations for time and budget.
oConsult with clients to determine the scope of services required for a project which
may include; conducting field surveys and meeting with clients, analysis and
selection of systems, evaluating project budgets, completing design documents
and technical specifications.
oSeeing the Mechanical and/or Electrical construction of the project through
completion and evaluating conformance with project construction documents.
oPerforming appropriate fieldwork to determine a design direction, to include making
educated decisions on system upgrades.
oPrepare bid plans using AutoCAD and/or Revit and specifications using Word.
oBidding phase services (attending and directing pre-bid and pre-construction
meetings).
oWill provide input/assistance in the preparation of fee proposals and project
invoicing.
Supervisory Responsibilities
oProvide direction and mentoring to team members and subordinate engineers
oProvides leadership in all aspects of project
oFunctions as a Subordinate to a Team Leader
Education/Experience
oBS or MS degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
o5
years related engineering design experience
oProven and demonstrated capabilities
oExcellent customer service abilities
oCompletion of a Project Management Training Course
Certifications/Registrations
oPE, registered in South Carolina
oLEED Accreditation or pass the LEED AP exam within 1 year of hire

oExcellent communication skills both written and verbal.
oAbility to work more than 40 hours per week in order to meet project deadlines.
oAbility to drive to project sites and perform customary MEP visits.
